Maggot Farm is a mixed-media exploration of loss and memory, dramatized as an imaginary discourse between a maggot and another maggot on the titular Maggot Farm—interrogating our ancestry and collective cultural (dis)inheritance with the dialectic as ellipsis.
Parkle Codeham uses the found sculpture as a deterritorialized space of communal inquisition in order to problematize our understanding of our myriad quotidian verbal transactions. Decontextualizing human speech organs by proxy, Mark My Words forces us to confront our complicity in what the artist calls “mass lingual entropy.” (The pig tongues are real, but I’m told the pigs were already dead and the artist has assured and assuaged me that this work is a protest of that whole thing—D., H.D. technically) This is their first solo show.
We’re BACK BABY! Why Not You? came into fruition when long-time art fan and deep thinker Blank Dremler was thinking one day of all the problems in the world and how no one ever really solves them. The biggest obstacle being no one takes the responsibility to get psyched up and do it themselves. This show is going to change all that. Come and be a part of something. Hey, why not you????
(My understanding is that this show is going to mostly be like mirrors, with Why not you? written on them. I was not at the meeting that this show was consensused on. Which is cool, just FYI. —D.)
Dear sibs of the Balto DIY arts scene,
We are extremely sad that our art(s) space was trashed to the point of being decimated, but we are extremely happy that so many rad people and multi-people entities such as bands are coming together to raise the extremely needed dineros for our reconstructivation. Thanks to Maculator, Medusa Gorgonzola, Sounds of the Far Place, Dead Bread, and Tra(m)n(p)c(s)e (I hope I’m pronouncing that right!) for agreeing to use their powers of creation for our benefit. Literally, our benefit show. With them and all you and all your five buckses at once FOMO will rise from the ashes of damage to phoenix the brave new world shaking tail feathers and soaring like eagles!!!!

Unfortunately we have to shut down our space indefinitely. I’m sure if you’re on this website you already heard what happened. The commotion attracted attention from the city who decided to do an “inspection” and has shut us down until we can fix their laundry list of issues with our space. Fire exits, bathrooms that are free to use without the app, etc etc – there’s a bunch more. Anyway it’s going to cost shitload of money BUT don’t count us out yet! We’ll probably be having a fundraiser fairly soon so keep your ears peeled!!! -The whole FOMO Gallery family (which is technically everyone)
The Merriam-Webster Third New International Dictionary defines hat as “a covering for the head usually having a shaped crown and brim.” Well hold on to your frigging covering for the head because this new six-artist gallery show is going to be ultra and beyond because it includes (in a totally nonhierarchical way) Gabe Knight, the laconic maven behind your favorite post-pop corporate conceptualism! Plus Fidge Fingerman, Jo Karlo, Quan Gillen, Marst Apperstraub, PLUS some kind of installation artist TBA.

How does truth rate on the Richter scale? How many synthesizers does it take to swing a duck? In MACROFORMS, artist P.Q. examines the fluctuations and disturbances that define our physical, emotional, mental and existential parameters. Superimposing seismography, polygraphy, calligraphy, oscilloscopy, and colonoscopy, charts an inner life that topples mountains and identifies the pen strokes that alter brainwaves. “To experience MACROFORMS is to be a victim of the SUDDEN REVELATION that your four-dimensional experience is but a crude exploded diagram of reality.” —PQ
At FOMO, we cherish and support art the dares deeply and makes bravely, art that provokes, unsettles, and challenges us. But then, again maybe we don’t. Cuz at FOMO, everyone is the leader whether they’re into it or not, and that includes YOU.
To that end, please fill out this short survey and email your answers to f0m0g4ll3ry.com so we can try to figure out who we are at what we stand for.
What kind of art do you like? (Feel free to use adjectives or other words or draw a picture of an example of the kind of thing you really like) What should art mean? (Include your favorite political messages, morals, and allegories.) Where does art go? (e.g., on the walls, in the trash, everywhere, etc.) How much would you pay for a piece of art? Do you actually have more money than that and you’re just lowballing us? Prove you’re not a robot.
